Energy Facilities Siting Board meeting - June 30, 2021, 1:00 p.m.
On March 1, 2019, pursuant to G.L. c. 164, §§ 69J, 72, NSTAR Electric Company d/b/a Eversource Energy (“Eversource” or “Company”) filed petitions with the Energy Facilities Siting Board (“Siting Board”) and the Department of Public Utilities (“Department”) for the Company’s proposal to construct, operate and maintain a new approximately two-mile, 115 kilovolt (“kV”) underground transmission line (“New Line”). The New Line would connect the Company’s existing Andrew Square Substation located at 45 Ellery Street in South Boston and its existing Dewar Street Substation in Dorchester. A map of the proposed Project route is at the end of this notice showing the primary and alternative routes for the Project. The New Line and modifications at the Andrew Square and Dewar Street Substations are known as the “Andrew Square to Dewar Street Transmission Reliability Project” (“the Project”). You are receiving this Notice because you live or own property near the proposed Project route.
The Siting Board will conduct a remote Siting Board meeting using Zoom on June 30, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. to listen to comments and vote on whether to approve, approve with conditions, or reject the Project. A Tentative Decision issued by the Siting Board’s staff on June 18, 2021 recommends approval of the Project with conditions. The Tentative Decision is available at the following link.
Attendees can participate by using the following link from a computer, smartphone, or tablet. No prior software download is required. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided (see instructions below). For audio-only participation, attendees can dial in at 1 646 558 8656 and enter Meeting ID 939 2123 5405. Please note that dial-in participants will only hear live audio of the actual speaker without interpretation.
Public Access and Opportunity for Public Comment
Pursuant to Massachusetts Open Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, §§18-25, 980 CMR 2.04(1), Governor Baker’s March 10, 2020 Declaration of Emergency, the related March 12, 2020 Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law, and legislation extending the Governor’s Order, the Siting Board will conduct a remote Siting Board meeting using Zoom to hear public comments, deliberate, and vote on the Tentative Decision. Additional information, including translated copies of the Tentative Decision in Chinese, Vietnamese and Spanish, is available at the following link.
If you wish to provide oral comments at the Board meeting, please notify us by Tuesday, June 29, 2021 by sending an email to Geneen.Bartley@mass.gov with your full name, email address, and mailing address. If you anticipate commenting by telephone, leave a voicemail message at 617-305-3529 with your full name, telephone number (the one you will use to dial in) and mailing address. Additional commenters may be allowed during the meeting, at the discretion of the Siting Board Chair.
