Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe announced today that on March 5, 2018, following a four day jury trial, Renato Campos (d.o.b. 5/1/86) of Hyannis was found Guilty of Aggravated Rape of a Child and two counts of Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.
The charges stem from an incident in January of 2017, where Campos brought several children to his home and served them alcohol. He then had the thirteen year old victim perform oral sex on him. This was later reported to the police, who executed a search warrant at his residence and arrested him.
The Honorable Robert C. Rufo sentenced Campos to 10 to 10 years and one day in state prison on the aggravated rape of a child and one year to the House of Correction, deemed served, on the charges of furnishing alcohol to a minor. Campos will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release.
The case was investigated by the Barnstable Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jessica M. Croker.
