Maffa Way/Mystic Avenue Bridge superstructure replacements

The project will replace two deteriorated bridge superstructures that carry vehicles and pedestrians over railtracks in Boston and Somerville, as well as improve transit, bicycle, and pedestrian accommodations.

Maffa Way Bridge and Mystic Avenue Bridge carry vehicle, bicycle, pedestrian, and transit traffic over the MBTA’s Orange Line and Commuter Rail in Boston and Somerville. This project will replace the bridge superstructures as well as improve bicycle, pedestrian, and transit facilities. The work will integrate with adjacent projects, including Rutherford Avenue, Assembly Square, and the One Mystic development.
