Municipal Annual Reports
Municipalities' Annual Reports are filed per Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 98 Section 37.
Pursuant to Massachusetts Law c. 98 § 37, each municipality is required to submit to the Division of Standards an annual report that describes the city or town’s weights and measures program. This report details, among other things, the equipment used by each municipality in their weights and measures program and outlines the net loss restored the merchants and consumers through enforcement activities. Each report is required to be submitted by a municipality by January 31 of the year following the reporting year. To aid in the submission of these reports, the Division has developed an online reporting portal to receive this information.
