What you need
The Housing Choice Grant Program is an exclusive grant program for municipalities currently designated as a Housing Choice Community (HCC) and Rural and Small Town Housing Choice Community (RST-HCC) to further their current housing efforts to meet local, regional, and statewide housing needs. This competitive grant program awards funds based on the project’s nexus with housing, transportation, infrastructure, economic development, and community development.
Housing Choice Designation
A list of designated communities can be found on the Housing Choice Initiative Designation page.
To apply, a community must have a current Housing Choice Community (HCC) or Rural and Small Town Housing Choice Community (RST-HCC) Designation. Other eligible entities must serve a currently designated community (see guidelines for full details).
Program Guidelines
Review the FY27 Housing Choice Grant Program Guidelines prior to submitting a full application. Full applications must be submitted through the Community One Stop for Growth.
How to apply
The Housing Choice Grant Program is part of the Community One Stop for Growth, a single application portal and collaborative review process of community and economic development grant programs that make targeted investments based on a Development Continuum. It is designed to allow applicants to apply for consideration of multiple sources of funding to support multiple phases and facets of a project.
