The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program’s Surveillance Report for Calendar Year 2020 is available. This annual report includes:

  • Screening rates and blood lead level prevalence data (statewide, municipality, high-risk communities, rural clusters)
  • The 2020 High-Risk Community List
  • Discussion of the 2020 COVID-19 impact on screening and prevalence
  • Why lead poisoning is a health equity issue

Prior to 2020, we produced two reports: one with screening rates and blood lead level prevalence data and the second report with a list of communities at high risk for childhood lead poisoning. For 2020 and going forward, we are combining these reports into one convenient, easier to read document.

  • Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program

We help prevent, screen, diagnose, and treat childhood lead poisoning. We work to eliminate sources of poisoning through research and educational, epidemiological, and clinical and environmental activities.
  • Bureau of Climate and Environmental Health

We work to protect the public from a variety of environmental exposures. These exposures can occur when we come into contact with pollutants in the air, water, or soil – whether they result from human activities or the natural environment, like radon in soil.
