Mandi's career journey has been defined by her unwavering commitment to equality and advocacy. In the Navy, she served as a Flag Writer, fulfilling the role of an enlisted aide to Flag Officers. Alongside her primary duties, Mandi actively volunteered for the Navy Rights and Responsibilities group at each duty station. She was driven by a passion to educate her fellow sailors on their rights and responsibilities, particularly focusing on issues of discrimination against women and minorities.

Throughout her tenure, Mandi witnessed significant changes within the Navy, including the historic shift allowing women to serve on ships capable of combat. Despite facing obstacles such as gender disparities in promotions, Mandi remained dedicated to fostering inclusivity and equality within the military.

Upon retirement, Mandi transitioned seamlessly into a role with the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Federal Compliance Programs. Here, she investigates cases of discrimination against women, minorities, veterans, and individuals with disabilities, embodying her continued dedication to serving the American public and advocating for equality in all spheres of life.
