Karen Fras is a proud U.S. Navy veteran whose service spanned from 2001 to 2006 with the Seabees in Gulfport, MS. During her time in the Navy, Karen deployed to Southwest Asia in 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Seven (NMCB-7). She was vital in constructing roads and maintaining camps and supply routes in Kuwait and Iraq. In 2005, Karen and NMCB-7 provided crucial disaster recovery support following Hurricane Katrina, marking her dedication to service in times of need.

After an honorable discharge in 2006, Karen embarked on a career dedicated to serving others. She began as the first Bilingual Medicaid and Food Stamps Case Manager in Ashtabula County with the Department of Jobs & Family Services. Transitioning into the role of a Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program Specialist, Karen served veterans with the utmost care and commitment. In 2014, she furthered her impact by joining the Department of Labor/Veterans' Employment and Training Service (U.S. DOL/VETS) Massachusetts Field Office, where she continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans.
