Overview   of New England Women's Policy Conference

NEWPI Flyer
Rain date: This event is indoors and will be held rain or shine.

The New England Women’s Policy Initiative (NEWPI) is a long-term, nonpartisan effort to advance the economic security, health, and well-being of women and their families. NEWPI is spearheaded by UMass Boston's Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy and co-convened by regional partners including Women’s Commissions, Women’s Funds, and nonprofit organizations serving women, and particularly women of color, in the six New England states.

Join us on December 2, 2022 for a hybrid event entitled Building An Intersectional, Inclusive and Equitable Future, which seeks to utilize an intersectional lens taking into account inequities related to race, gender, ethnicity, class, immigrant status, and other social identities, to address the economic security, health, and wellbeing of women, their families, and their communities. Our vision is to make this year’s New England Women’s Policy Conference an engaging collaboration to take political and social action to create opportunities that can transform inequitable systems in New England and beyond. Topics this year will include climate and reproductive justice, economic security/crisis, the long-term effects of COVID -19, gun violence; and early care and education.

In partnership with IGNITE and the Center for Women in Public Policy at UMass Boston, the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women will be hosting a special track for young people relating to political leadership and advocacy, ages 14–22.
