Back to School

Yes, the beginning of a new school year can mean stocking up on school supplies, coordinating drop-offs and pick-ups from school, lining up a babysitter, lunch money, lots and lots of homework assignments and a much quieter house during the daytime. Parents should remember that the new school year also means fulfilling requirements for your child’s school — things like physical exams, vaccinations, health records and medication administration. Now would be a great time to make sure you don’t get caught by surprise by any requirements.

Free Nicotine Patches

We all know that cigarettes are bad for your health — with the recent $1 per pack tax increase, they’re now more expensive as well. Want to keep cigarette smoke out of your lungs and save money? How about setting out to quit smoking? Need help? Well, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) Tobacco Control Program is offering a two-week supply of nicotine patches to smokers who want help quitting! There are no income restrictions on this offer and the giveaway runs through August 2008.
