We provide services to parents who pay child support and parents and caregivers who receive child support. Child support is a way for parents to share the financial responsibility for their child, even when they do not live together. Either parent or the child’s caregiver can apply for our services to establish parentage or to get, enforce, or change a child support order.

More Money for Families!
As of November 1, 2025, Child Support Services is changing how it distributes child support payments when the source of the payment is federal tax intercept. For families that used to get cash assistance from DTA, federal tax intercepts were first paid to any past-due support owed the Commonwealth. Going forward, child support payments from federal tax intercepts will be paid first to the family for current monthly support and any past-due support. Only after the family is paid will federal tax intercepts be used to pay any remaining past-due support owed the Commonwealth.
