Strong Turnout for Springfield Open
Dialogue Session
Close to 200 attorneys and court employees
from western Massachusetts counties attended the Open
Dialogues on Court Practices held on October 2nd at the
Springfield Hall of Justice. Probate and Family Court
Judge David Fuller welcomed participants and introduced
speakers prior to breakout discussions conducted by each
court department. Hampden County Bar Association President
Mark Albano also greeted participants and encouraged
candid discussion of court management issues.
Judges, Clerks, Registers, Assistant Clerks
and other court staff from six Trial Court departments
were on hand to participate in the breakout sessions
which were each co-moderated by a judge and member of
the bar. Members of the civil and criminal bar included
prosecutors and attorneys for legal services and private
clients.
The Bar Associations of Hampden County,
Hampshire County, Franklin County and Berkshire County
cosponsored the event along with the Massachusetts Bar
Association, the Court Management Advisory Board and
the Massachusetts Trial Court.
The final session of the Open Dialogues
on Court Practices will be held at the Worcester Trial
Court on October 16.
