Strong Turnout for Springfield Open Dialogue Session

Close to 200 attorneys and court employees from western Massachusetts counties attended the Open Dialogues on Court Practices held on October 2nd at the Springfield Hall of Justice. Probate and Family Court Judge David Fuller welcomed participants and introduced speakers prior to breakout discussions conducted by each court department. Hampden County Bar Association President Mark Albano also greeted participants and encouraged candid discussion of court management issues.

Judges, Clerks, Registers, Assistant Clerks and other court staff from six Trial Court departments were on hand to participate in the breakout sessions which were each co-moderated by a judge and member of the bar. Members of the civil and criminal bar included prosecutors and attorneys for legal services and private clients.

The Bar Associations of Hampden County, Hampshire County, Franklin County and Berkshire County cosponsored the event along with the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Court Management Advisory Board and the Massachusetts Trial Court.

The final session of the Open Dialogues on Court Practices will be held at the Worcester Trial Court on October 16.
