Employment Opportunities
Human Resources Department
In order to be considered for any vacant position, a completed Trial Court Application for Employment must be received no later than the end of the business day on the closing date. Consistent with state law (Ch. 478, s. 328 of the Acts of 1978), only persons who are residents of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts may serve as officers in or as employees of the Judicial branch. Please note that applications can only be submitted when there is a vacancy for a particular position and we are unable to maintain any applications on file. All positions are posted on this website for a period of at least ten business days, and the site is updated daily. In addition, this information is also available on the Court Jobs Hotline, which can be reached by calling (800) 462-5059 (from within Massachusetts only), or (617) 878-0479. Please be advised that this page does not include information pertaining to Judgeships or Clerk-Magistrate positions. Information related to those vacancies is available through the Judicial Nominating Commission, and can be accessed through their website, http://www.mass.gov/jnc/.
For information on Contract or Per Diem Court Interpreter positions:
Contact the Office of Court Interpreters Hotline at (617) 878-0453.
For information on Official Court Reporter or Per Diem Court Reporter positions:
Contact the Superior Court Administrative Office at (617) 788-7303.
To
apply for a position within the Trial Court, please submit
your Trial Court Application for Employment, along
with any additional paperwork (i.e. resume, cover letter) to
the specific office that is advertising the vacancy. Your application
should be forwarded directly to the court or office address,
which is listed below in the column ‘Submit Completed
Application To…’ It will be the listed department/office
that is responsible for receiving all applications and conducting
interviews. Applications may be hand-delivered or sent by mail
or fax and must be received by the close of business on the
last day of the posting, unless otherwise noted. Please be
aware that faxed applications are not accepted by the Security
Department or the Office of the Commissioner of Probation due
to the high volume of applications those offices receive.
Trial Court Applications for Employment and detailed job descriptions for vacant positions are available on this page, at the specific court or office where the vacancy exists, as well as at the Administrative Office of the Trial Court, which is located at: Two Center Plaza, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02108.
At the present time, information cannot be typed directly into the Trial Court Application for Employment on this site. Applications must be printed out and then completed either by hand or typewriter.
Please contact the Human Resources Department at (617) 742-8575 if you need additional information. The Massachusetts Trial Court is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
