Mondol is arraigned in Superior Court

A Somerville, Massachusetts youth was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges.  17 year old GALILEO MONDOL appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

MONDOL had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of AGGRAVATED RAPE OF A CHILD UNDER 16, two (2) counts of ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO RAPE A CHILD UNDER 16, one (1) count of INDECENT ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A PERSON WHO HAS ATTAINED 14 YEARS OF AGE and three (3) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON.  Judge Agostini released him on $100,000 cash bail on the condition MONDOL have no contact either direct or indirect with any of the victims or witnesses in this case, that he not attend Somerville High School, abide by an 11 p.m. curfew unless with his parents and surrender his passport to the Probation Department.       

The incident allegedly occurred at Camp Lenox in Otis, Massachusetts where the City of Somerville had rented the facility for team-building activities for its Fall sports teams.  It is alleged that MONDOL, a Junior at Somerville High School, entered a cabin occupied by Freshman students Sunday, August 25, 2013 and assaulted three victims. 

The investigation is being conducted by Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office assisted by State Police Detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Somerville Police Department.
