About the DSB

The Designer Selection Board (DSB) acts as the central administrative authority for the selection of firms to provide “design services” for State building projects throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Pursuant to M.G.L. Ch.7C Sections 44 to 58 the Designer Selection Board ensures that the commonwealth receives the highest quality design services for all its public building projects; provides for increased confidence in the procedures followed in the procurement of design and design related services; promotes consistency in the methods of procurement of design and design related services for all public building projects in the Commonwealth; fosters effective broad-based participation in public work within the design professions; and provides safeguards for the maintenance of the integrity of the system for procurement of designers' services within the Commonwealth.
