Family Advisory Council for Early Education and Care

Bringing family voices into EEC’s programs, policies, and priorities

The state’s first Family Advisory Council (FAC) launched on September 1, 2026, and will bring together parents and caregivers from across Massachusetts to help shape the Department of Early Education and Care’s (EEC) programs, policies, strategies, and resources.

Council members will bring their lived experiences, perspectives, and community connections to EEC’s work. Through ongoing conversation and feedback, they will help EEC better understand the needs of children and families and strengthen how the agency serves communities across the Commonwealth.

The Council will include representation from all five EEC regions and will give families a meaningful role in informing, influencing, and helping shape EECs work.

What Council Members will Do

  • Participate in quarterly meetings and other engagement opportunities
  • Provide feedback on EEC programs, policies, initiatives, and resources
  • Share information and opportunities with their communities and networks

The Council’s structure, roles, and responsibilities may continue to evolve as the work develops.
