Registered apprenticeship funding opportunities

The Grants for Registered Apprenticeship Opportunities in the Workforce (GROW Grants) help employers, training providers, and active apprenticeship sponsors expand Registered Apprenticeship programs across Massachusetts. Funding supports programs that strengthen talent pipelines, expand access to apprenticeship opportunities, and address workforce needs in key industries.

Available funding

FY2027 GROW Grants

Applications are now open for Fiscal Year 2027 GROW Grants. The priority deadline for funding for FY27 is August 28, 2026, but applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. 

FY2027 GROW Intermediary Hubs

Applications are now open for organizations interested in serving as either a GROW Apprenticeship Intermediary Hub or a GROW Healthcare Apprenticeship Intermediary Hub. Responses to the Request for Response (RFR) must be submitted through COMMBUYS.

Apprenticeship program sponsors may be eligible for a tax credit of 50% of an apprentice’s wages in a taxable year, up to $4,800 per apprentice. Sponsors can receive up to $100,000 in total tax credits each year. Eligibility depends on several factors, including the apprentice’s occupation, employment duration, and the employer’s registration and compliance status with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
