Capital Investment Plan (CIP)

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is responsible for managing the transportation assets that allow the state’s economy and its people to flourish.

Transportation investments are funded through the Capital Investment Plan (CIP), which programs state, federal, and other funds to pay for long-term improvements to the transportation system. This plan is updated annually and outlines planned investments for the next five years. More information can be found on the pages linked below.

To learn more about the CIP in effect, the FY2024–2028 CIP, please visit the Current Capital Investment Plan page.

Past CIP documents can be found on the Previous Capital Investment Plans page.

As MassDOT updates and develops the next CIP, information on the draft plan will be provided on the Developing the Capital Investment Plan page when available.
